We’ve had many exciting additions to the gallery in the past months, from extensive screencaps, episode stills and on-the-set pictures of Megalyn on ’90210′ to episode stills from Showtime’s ‘House of Lies’ and screencaps of Megalyn in her guest star role on Malibu CA in the episode “Three Dudes and a Baby” (2000). The latest promo of Showtime’s “House of Lies” offers more clips of Megalyn in her upcoming roles. The show is expected to air on January 8, 2012 at 10PM ET/PT so stay tuned!

On November 8, 2011 Megalyn attended the official launch party for the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim role playing game which was released on November 11, 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Pictures can be found in the gallery.

On October 24, 2011 Megalyn attended the 2011 Glamour Reel Moments to celebrate the directional debut of best friend Olivia Wilde‘s film “Free Hugs”. Megalyn stars in this film alongside actors Jaclyn Jonet, Justin Long, Sarah Burns, Aziz Ansari and Bryn Mooser.
“Glamour Reel Moments brings Hollywood’s leading female talent to take a turn behind the camera, directing a short film inspired by real-life story submissions from Glamour readers. By helping place more women in the director’s chair and focusing on real-life stories, Glamour Reel Moments strives to serve as a vehicle of empowerment for women.” This 6th year of Glamour Reel Moments also featured directional debuts from actresses Zoe Saldana and Eva Longoria.

“FREE HUGS captures the “rock bottom” moment of post-breakup wallowing, when friends lose their patience, and the pitiless world moves on without you. We follow the hilariously bitter Billie as she attempts to find catharsis through comfort food (and wine), sawing her belongings in half and attacking a particularly meaningful local monument. Ultimately Billie must slam into the harsh reality of heartbreak before she can understand that sometimes the purest form of love is a free hug from a stranger.”

Black Butterfly
I remember you as a cocoon. You were a beautiful little “Creature”. I patiently waited for your star to rise. Finally that day has arrived. You ascended from your warm place of protection to a “Damsel in Distress.” You’ve been molded, loved, and are prepared to face the “House of Lies.” You were ready to face the big suits that are devils in disguise. Now the time has come for your friends, family and fans to come together “Like Family” and support you “24”/7. Hopes and prayers for your triumph linger on our minds. We feel so excited and giddy like it’s a “Funny Valentine”. “What I Like About You” is your passion for the motherland. You are “Raising the Bar” for others to follow. You’re a Buffed up Slayer for inequality and determined to “Fix” the lives of those in hopelessness. You have become a warrior “Sheena” “For the People” with a “Supernatural” divine gift to help others. When someone asks me “Who Do You Love” and admire, I say Megalyn Echikunwoke with a smile and whisper my dreams of someday “Coming to Africa” to lend a hand to my sistah’s in need. Author’s Note: This poem is metaphorically speaking of course. I used the titles of some of the shows she has been on in the poem. Like the devils in suits would be the Hollywood producers and production companies. She does a lot of work with little girls and women in Africa so that is why I refer to her as a warrior.

‘Calla Lilies’ by Tao Ruspoli

Megalyn has been working with friend and filmmaker Tao Ruspoli on a short film titled, “Calla Lilies”. In his casting call in August, Ruspoli summarized the project as “The Sopranos meets Sex and the City in Venice Beach, California.” Megalyn has worked with Ruspoli on many projects in the past including the independent films, “Fix” and “Camjackers”. Looking forward to seeing this one!
